The Fulford Show is held annually on August Bank Holiday Monday, 1p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on the Parish playing field at School Lane.
This annual event brings the whole community together and was re-instituted in the village after the original event moved and became the Great Yorkshire Show we know today. The Show raises money for local and national charities and is a lot of fun for the whole family.
Competition entries are welcomed in a wide range of categories including flowers, vegetables, arts & crafts, photography & painting, beer & winemaking and bakery, with separate children’s categories including many arts & crafts and handwriting. See the Fulford Show programme for details, available from July. Exhibits should be brought to the Parish Council Social Hall, School Lane from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.
There is free entry to the field, with charity stalls, coconut shy, face painting, tombola, refreshments, beer tent, miniature railway, family sports and the pub Tug of War challenge. A small charge is made to view the exhibits at the Social Hall. Prize-giving is at 5 p.m. at the Hall, followed by an auction of unreserved exhibits.
Parking is kindly provided by Fulford Secondary School down Fulfordgate and refreshments are available from the Sports Club pavilion and on the show ground.
