YORKSHIRE WATER PLAN WORKS ACROSS THE FULFORD VILLAGE GREEN

Fulford Parish Council has received notification from Yorkshire Water that contractors Mott Mac Donald Bentley Ltd, working on their behalf, is to carry out works to replace the Fulford rising mains between St. Oswald’s Road and Naburn Sewage Works.

This essential work will entail major excavation which inevitably will cause some disruption and inconvenience to members of the public who normally use the village green for recreational purposes.

The rare tansy beetle which inhabits the site has been rescued and relocated to a temporary lodging at New Walk. The parish council has been assured that it will be returned unharmed to the Village Green when the works are completed and that the Fulford Village Green will be reinstated to its former glory.

It is anticipated that preliminary work will start on 15th November 2010 and the total works will be finished by October 2011.
